Oxfordshire-based Stone Sculptor and Stonemason

Richard Noviss is a self-employed stonemason and carver who carries out individual commissions for both private and commercial clients. With twenty years experience, his work ranges from memorials and fireplaces to decorative carving and conservation of historic buildings and statuary.

Richard studied sculpture at Exeter School of Art and trained as a stonemason and carver at Weymouth College. He worked in the Cathedral workshops of Wells and Winchester before becoming self-employed in 1988. Currently based in a rural workshop in north Oxfordshire, he undertakes work widely in the southern half of England.

Recent commissions range from the conservation of decorative sculpture on the grade I listed Tower of the Winds in Oxford to masonry repairs at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.
